Record, Edit, and Export a Demo

Follow the main PokeDemo workflow from recording a browser session through edit and export.

Use this workflow when you want to turn a real product flow into a reusable interactive demo.

1. Record the flow

Record the workflow in your browser using the PokeDemo extension.

The goal at this stage is to capture the real path through your product. It does not have to be perfect on the first try, what matters is getting the core flow down.

2. Open the recording in PokeDemo

Once the recording is ready, open it in PokeDemo.

This is where the raw capture becomes an interactive demo. Rather than rebuilding the flow from scratch, you start with the recording and refine it from there.

3. Improve the guidance

Editing is where you make the demo easier to follow.

You can update step titles and instructions, adjust overlay text, and improve how viewers move through the flow. If the recording itself is correct, you can usually improve the experience without recording the workflow again.

4. Export the bundle

Exporting is the final handoff step.

It creates a downloadable bundle that can be hosted outside PokeDemo and embedded elsewhere. This exported bundle is what the player loads later on your site or in your app.

Practical guidance

  • Keep each recording focused on a single clear outcome.
  • Capture the core flow first, then refine the guidance.
  • Re-record only when the underlying workflow is incorrect.
  • Re-export whenever the walkthrough changes and you want the hosted version to reflect the latest version.

If you need the publishing side next, continue with Embed Demos.
